OBAMA DECLARES WAR!
Against the biggest enemy of our lifetime, Fox News. In case you missed it, Anita Dunn, the White House communication director, was quoted as saying: “What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party”. Not that many of us would be surprised to learn this of course: White House Escalates War of Words With Fox News. Isn’t this the same guy who just won the Nobel Peace Prize?
I purposely referenced the article on Fox News because there is some evidence that shows that Fox News was equally critical of McCain during the presidential campaign. You won’t find this reported anywhere else either so I had to use it! Fox News doesn’t own the Pew Research Center last time I checked. Even though I don’t put a lot of stock into polls, it’s amazing how the left easily dismisses a poll if it doesn’t agree with their view. I did a little more research on the Pew Research website: http://people-press.org. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Fox News is viewed as being the most critical of President Obama. 29% of the respondents felt that way in comparison to its next closest competition, CNN at 11%. What is telling is the flip side of that equation, which networks are viewed as too easy on Obama. CNN and MSNBC are at the top with 16% of respondents thinking that those news organizations are too easy on Obama. Then comes NBC at 15%, ABC at 14%, and CBS at 13%. Apparently people aren’t as stupid as the MSM (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC) make them out to be. In case you are wondering, 5% believed Fox News was too easy on Obama. Obviously there are some big differences in those numbers so it shouldn’t be surprising that Fox News is the highest rated cable news channel on television. If you compare Fox News to all news channels, it ranks second behind NBC and Brian Williams. That isn’t very surprising because as far as network news anchors go, he doesn’t show a bias in either direction. Fox News gets a bad rap because of shows like Hannity and Beck. And Beck is the only one who doesn’t offer differing views. Beck however does ask the question that all news agencies should be asking but in large are not. Hannity even had Michael Moore on for Pete’s sake! Would Keith Olbermann have Newt Gengrich or Glenn Beck? Not in this lifetime. Even O’Reily, the top rated cable news program, is very balanced and he is quick to slam anyone, regardless of party affiliation, if he disagrees with them. I think this strategy of Obama will backfire in his face as many of his policies have.
As far as the Nobel Peace Prize goes, is anyone surprised that Obama won it? The Nobel Peace prize has become little more than a participants award if you look at some of the more recent winners: 2007 – Al Gore, 2002 – Jimmy Carter, 2001 – The United Nations, and the cream of the crop Yasser Arafat in 1994. Obama deserves to be in that company. I have nothing against Norwegians but this doesn’t paint them in a very good light. How can you nominate someone who was in office less than 2 weeks? Someone who was busy attending inaugural balls (i.e. partying)? Let alone give him the award? There are a lot of people of Norwegian descent where I live and many of them are embarrassed to admit that now, with good cause. If you thought lefse and lutefisk was strange enough, this award has to rank right up there in the “strange” category.
Obama’s strategy of apologizing and appeasement is making him very popular across the world. The only problem is that he isn’t very popular here at home where it counts. His approval rating is plummeting and even though it’s just below 50% (49% as of today): Daily Presidential Tracking Poll it’s still about average. The key indicator is the number of people who strongly approve (32%) or strongly disapprove (39%) of the way he is doing his job. Just for comparison, George W. Bush’s approval rating didn’t fall below 50% until February of 2004, 3 years into his first term (Pew Research Poll: President Bush: Job Ratings). Obama can’t blame Bush anymore and American’s are seeing that he is all rhetoric and no substance. Obama has never worked a day in his life, he has done nothing but campaign his entire political career. There is something to be said for experience and Obama, has absolutely none and it shows. And we are the ones who are paying for it and Fox News is the only network bold enough to call him out on it…
Cash For Clunkers = New Math
Many of you may have received a variation of this in an email from your “forward all” happy friends. I found out that although the reason that the email was crafted was very accurate, the numbers didn’t quite reflect reality. I did a little research and used more accurate numbers to come up with the “new math” the government is using when it looks at what it thinks is a money saver for the country:
Cash for Clunkers Program Math… (Cash For Clunkers final numbers: 690,000 vehicles sold; $2.8 billion used; 24.9 mpg average for the new cars)
A vehicle at 15.8 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 759.5 gallons a year of gasoline. (Automobile and Insurance industries consider 12,000 miles driven per year to be average)
A vehicle at 24.9 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 481.9 gallons a year.
So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 277.6 gallons per year.
They claim 690,114 vehicles sold so that’s 191.6 million gallons / year.
Each barrel of oil refined in the U.S. (42 gallons) produces about 19.5 gallons of gasoline (Energy Information Administration). A lot of other products come from this barrel of oil and the amount of the oil that is usable for making gasoline varies by the type of oil it is and where it came from. This means that in the U.S., the CASH for Clunkers program will save us 9.8 million barrels of oil per year (191.6 / 19.5 = gallons of gasoline saved/number of gallons of gas per barrel of oil).
The average U.S. daily consumption of oil is 20.7 million barrels per day (Oil Consumption (most recent) by country ) so the 9.8 million we saved from the cash for clunkers is less than a 1/2 day consumption. So every 2+ years, we will have saved 1 day’s worth of oil there by making the planet MUCH more environmentally friendly. Basically, in our lifetimes this program will not have paid for the reduction of 1 year worth of oil (U.S. consumption only). However, our grandchildren may be paying for the bill.
9.8 million barrels of oil costs about $705.4 million dollars ($71.98/barrel – price current as of the date and time of this email: Oil Prices).
So, we all contributed to spending $2.877 billion to save $705.4 million.
$100 million in additional costs were spent to “administrate” this program so the final price tag is $2.977 billion.
Only the government would spend more than 4 times what it saved and call the program a “success”. The same goes for Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security, programs that are mired in red ink with a huge bill about to come due.
After reading what our government calls a “success”, is this the “math” you want your children to grow up with? The rhetoric you want your children to believe is the truth? Do you really want to have a debate on whether or not the government dabbling in the health care industry is a good idea? If you are a rational, personally & fiscally responsible person and you love your freedom, then the answer would be “no”. Knowing what you know now, can you believe that there are people out there who STILL want the government to control health care????
The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy…
Being a Conservative, I have been called just about every name you can think of from the media and our elected officials. As with any group of people, there are those that take things to the extreme and give the entire group a bad name. Take Congress for example: There are 58 Senators and 256 Representatives in office today that are affiliated with the Democratic Party. Does this mean they are ALL flaming Liberals? Of Course not, but anyone who opposes what they do are part of the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”. If you look at any politicians voting record, you will see that they do indeed vote a majority of the time along party lines, which in some cases does put them in the “far left” or “far right” extremist groups. It just so happens that the “far left” has control of every law in the land right now and they are doing everything right, if they don’t want to be elected again.
Right now, the Democrats are dazed and confused because they thought their sweep into power was a mandate to change the United States of America from a Representative Republic to a Socialist form of government. Along the way they forgot this little thing called the Constitution. The very media they used, the high tech ways they reached voters last November, are coming back to bite them in the ass because every word they say and every action they take is immediately posted to the information highway. Within seconds, millions of Americans see how stupid their elected officials believe they are. People are pulling out the Constitution left and right and realizing that their rights are being violated, and have been for some 50 years now.
The country is seeing a mass revolt against many of the policies being proposed by the democratically controlled congress. Just like we saw people buy snake oil by the 55 gallon drum from Obama during the presidential campaign, we are seeing an increasing number of Americans saying “no more change”. Or at least no more of this kind of change. In fact, in light of recent proclamations by the Obama Administration that a recession was averted by their “Stimulus” package: Obama Says Recession Nears End as Data Improve While Polls Fall a majority of Americans don’t believe that he or his policies had anything to do with it. The reason? Only a small fraction of the “Stimulus” money has been spent. In fact, a super majority of Americans across all party affiliations want the remaining “Stimulus” money returned: FOX News Poll: Most Americans Want Unused Stimulus Money Returned to Taxpayers. What is interesting to note about the portion of “Stimulus” money that has been spent is that it hasn’t created any jobs, in fact this “Stimulus” has managed to do very little, except of course waste money: Call “Sheriff Joe”: States Misspending Stimulus Money, Stimulus overseer: Waste ‘inevitable’, More Stimulus Package Waste in Bangor, Maine, Potty Pork: Stimulus Money Flushed Down the Toilet, Critics slam Microsoft bridge as waste of stimulus money. There are literally thousands of articles out there outlining the wasteful spending that has happened with this “Stimulus” package. Did it help unemployment? Nope. Did it save jobs? Nope. Did it “stimulate” the economy? Nope. Then just what did this bill do outside of provide political paybacks? Americans are waking up and they don’t like what they see.
The “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” is supposedly also responsible for the protestors at the Town Hall meetings: The Religious Right Gets In On the Town Hall Fun. There are hundreds of these types of accusations out there, search for “Right Wing” and have a ball. The only problem is that most of the supposed “Right Wing Extremist” groups are wishing they had thought to do this: Memo To Media And Liberals: Republicans Aren’t Behind The Town Hall Protests. In fact, the Republican Party is cheering people on, not organizing them. Liberals dismiss this as an “astro turf” movement and not a “grass roots” movement. Well, they have the right to call it whatever they want to, it is what it is, Americans pissed off at the unconstitutional approach their elected representatives have taken.
The MSM tried to squash the Tea Parties on such high rated *coughbullshitcough* cable news programs as Countdown with Keith Olbermann: Olbermann Launches into Anti-Tea Party, Anti-Tax Haven, Anti-Fox Business Rant. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC all had very negative coverage of the Tea Parties. What a difference a few months make which coincidentally coincide with polling data showing Obama’s popularity plummeting (gee what a shock). The MSM it would seem is now forced to show BOTH sides of the story instead of their own one sided biased opinion on the subject, well accept for Keith Olbermann (this guy is a class A loon). This has caused enough public pressure for Congress to back down off of it’s “Government Health Care” package and take a slightly different approach. One that will also be met with the same, if not more opposition. Why? It would seem that the Democrats think they can just bully their bill into our lives by shutting the Republicans out of the process all together: Schumer Threatens Democrats-Only Health-Care. This is the same group of people that brought us the “porkulus” package, a dismal failure, and the popular “cash for clunkers” program. You know the program that Congress just extended but has only paid out 2% of the total that is owed to car dealers? The program they had to shut down for a day because their system couldn’t handle it? And there are STILL people out there who think the government should be in charge of Health Care – unbelievable.
Americans as a whole are arrogant and egotistical, and THAT is why WE THE PEOPLE will not allow some other “arrogant” SOB to shove something down our throats. Not because we are part of some “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” and certainly not because we are all die-hard conservatives. We the people do NOT like being told what to do, we don’t like being called stupid, and we don’t like lawyers. I wrote my two Senators and my Representative, I asked them to be the first to sign their families up for any Health Care that they pass into law. I then kindly told them that if they passed health care reform, did not sign up their families, then I wished them the best of luck in the next election, because they are definitely going to need it…

Summer Break
Sorry that I haven’t been posting here the last month or so. I am on what you would call a summer break. I have either been on vacation or working my butt off! I flew over17,000 miles the past 3 weeks and am a little sick of the friendly skies.
With that said, the biggest news this summer has been the gift given to the Obama Administrationthe past few weeks; that would be the loss of Michael Jackson, Farrah Faucett, Carl Muldon, Ed McMahon, Steve McNair and the untimely death of Billy Maze (I am a huge fan of his). All of the media surrounding these deaths has covered up one of the biggest social ripoff programs in the history of the United States, Cap & Trade. Congress, Obama, and the ultra left wing nut balls in this country, are about to tax us into the stone age. This along with the Biden slip up that they really had no idea what to do about the economy and they wasted a lot of tax payer money on the porkulus plan that isn’t working, has all been covered up by lack of national media coverage (well accept Fox News that is). I bet the poor and lower income workers in this country are going to love watching their energy costs soar out of control in an effort to get everyone to buy an electric car (more then likely a GM product). By the way, did you know that the Toyota Prius and other hybrid cars lave a larger carbon footprint than ANY SUV on the road today? If you add up all of the manufacturing, charging, and disposal of the “Green” batteries in these cars, they leave a MUCH larger carbon footprint over the life of the car than a Hummer does! Not to mention the harmful checmicals that need to be disposed of. Battery Acid is soooo good for the environment you know! Do you remember from high school chemistry what is contained in a battery? LEAD. The government is out of control at every level in this country, and I for one think we need to either start taking control back or we get what we deserve for electing these fools to office.
What People Who Voted For Obama Didn’t Think About:
Even though this list is very long, there is one single issue that can affect many years of someone’s life: Supreme Court Appointees. I don’t think conservatives do a good enough job during the election cycle to explain to the average voter just what impact this can and will have in their lives. There are three branches of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial which is the cornerstone of our Republic. When one party gets so powerful that it can effectively control all three, this will begin the decline of our great nation. We are once again at that turning point in our history. It is this balance of power that has kept Conservatives from gaining any traction and allowing more personal freedom, Liberals from taking everything away from the individual for the greater good of all, and Moderates from keeping the fence from falling over, that is until now.
From 1919 to 1933, the Republicans controlled the Congress and from 1921 to 1933 they also controlled the Presidency. 4 Supreme Court Justices were named during this time, all Conservative, including former President William H. Taft, a Republican. The courts had no landmark cases during this time and they are probably best known for Taft’s charge of designing the current Supreme Court Building. It was of course during the later part of the Conservative majority when the Great Depression started.
The Great Depression is most often cited as starting on October 29, 1929, also known as Black Tuesday. Politicians today often cite the party in charge as being the reason the country hit the skids while not giving all of the facts and then only when the Democrats came to power did the country begin to recover. Unfortunately, that is far from the truth. Although the Republicans did not do anything to cause the Great Depression, their response and subsequently the response the Democrats had when they swept into power in 1933, was the same. It is also the same response that President Obama and the Democratically controlled congress have been putting into place in 2009. As was ultimately was proven from 1929-1941 and is proving in 2009, this is not the answer. This response was to increase government spending and create more social programs. Only after United States entered World War II in 1941 did the economy start its full recovery.
There is an uncomfortable resemblance between the Great Depression and the current economic downturn and the solutions then compared to the solutions now. I am not talking about the response to the economic downturn, although they do bare a striking resemblance, I am talking about the control of one party over all three branches of Government.
After the Civil War, the Supreme Court took on a conservative political posture. The Court during this time did not have a very positive image with the public as many times they sided with corporations and not the workers. Not many people know that in 1935-36, the Supreme Court struck down eight of Franklin D Roosevelt’s New Deal programs. This fueled the anti-judicial public sentiment and as a result of this, several constitutional amendments were introduced into Congress that would restrict the Court’s power, most notably one that would abolish the Court’s power to declare federal laws unconstitutional. During this time, FDR remained silent and avoided any references to the Court in his 1936 election campaign and was subsequently re-elected.
In 1937 FDR introduced a plan for judicial reform, which later became to be known as the Court-packing plan because it was viewed as an attempt to stack the Supreme Court in his favor. This plan would change the number of Justices on the Court with an interesting twist, it proposed adding a Justice for every Justice over the age of 70 who refused to retire up to a total of 15 maximum. The proposal had some traction because it was previously proposed by Justice James C. McReynolds, a conservative. That was the beginning of the end for this plan. The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, a Democrat, announced his opposition to the plan which effectively killed it. Further resistance from his own party developed as the Court reversed it’s own earlier ruling on some of the programs when they were re-written, most notably, Social Security. Congress urged the White House to back down, but FDR’s ego refused. The cost was the alienation of conservative Democrats and subsequently the bill went down in flames in Congress.
That wasn’t the end for FDR, he did place 9 Justices in the Supreme Court that supported his liberal agenda; 6 Liberals and 3 Moderates. Harry S. Truman also placed 2 liberals, 1 moderate, and 1 conservative to the bench during his Presidency. From 1933 to 1946, the Democrats had a lock on all of the laws written in this country because they controlled all three branches of our government. This was the greatest period of government growth in the history of the United States. The other periods of government growth happened from 1949-1953 and 1961-1967, all during times the Democrats controlled all three branches of government. The Republicans had their lone opportunity from 2003 to 2006 where they controlled all three branches. The public was quick to judge and they sent the spend happy Republicans packing in 2006. Over the course of 25 years (1955-1980) the Congress was controlled wholly by the Democrats. One of the least talked about things that this band of “representatives” did was to misappropriate Social Security funds and fill a filing cabinet with IOU’s. They took one of FDR’s signature items, one of their own liberal ideals, and they spent it. Since then they try to scare voters into believing the big bad Republican Party is trying to take it away from them, even though it for all intents and purposes doesn’t exist anymore, is bankrupt, and hasn’t really been there since the early 1980’s. It’s funny that American’s forget that little tidbit. They have no problem handing items like Health Care, Banking, Energy, and Automobiles to a government that stole from their parents and their children, not to mention their own pay check. I guess you can’t fix stupid.
This brings us to today. When President George H.W. Bush seated Justice David Souter he was deemed to be a moderate conservative. His voting record turned out to be more liberal so the appointment was a poor one for the conservative base. Now we have Obama nominating the egotistical, far left Judge Sonia Sotomayor to replace the retiring Souter. This won’t change the makeup of the court to much degree but it will bring a much more liberal voice to the Court then was there previously. Sotomayor has it all, she is a woman, is Hispanic, comes from a poor household, is divorced, has no children, has a large ego, and is as liberal as they come. Who better to represent the average American then someone who doesn’t resemble one? This is just the beginning folks. This will not be the only appointee that Obama will make during his term in office. Currently this court has a conservative leaning 5-4, this selection won’t change that, but I can promise you that the next one will. This balance of power as demonstrated historically must remain diversified. Each time all three branches of government have swung one direction or the other, the effects on “We the People” have been devastating. With how fragile our country is at this time, this is not the time for a 1930’s repeat, and we are well on our way. The term “Liberal” today takes on a more radical meaning then it did in 1933, however the end results are the same, a complete take over of personal freedom and the institution of government control. There is 1 vote separating us from a complete and total Liberal take over, that being the one that gives the Republican’s a Filibuster over the nomination, the crucial and much lobbied after 60th Senate vote. That is the last bastion for the Republican Party, if they lose that vote you can bet there will be no reversal of the destruction to this country that Obama and his liberal buddies have done in just a short 3 months. It’s very apparent that most American’s who voted for Obama, have no idea what they did when they cast their vote – We can only hope that they wise up before 2010, that no other Justice retires or passes away before then, or all the “hope” they voted for will effect “change” that they never imagined, even in their wildest dreams.

El Presidente, King Barack Hussein Obama II? You Decide
Obviously I have been watching the Liberal Congress and the Obama Administration very closely this year. I am convinced now more then ever that we will all be speaking Mexican (broken Spanish) before Obama is out of office. He has once again changed his mind on immigration. During the campaign he wanted amnesty, when the people (that would be us) let the congress know we were against this, he changed his tune to securing the borders. Once elected he reverted to his amnesty stance and now he is back to his secure the borders stance, this change of heart has occurred something like 4 times in the past 6 months. This time it’s a little different then in the past tough; he is effectively sitting on the fence by saying that he can do nothing unless the American people are convinced the borders are secured: Obama reverses stance on immigration. This is a crafty move by the Obama Administration designed to keep his approval rating high. Those who want secured borders and the illegal immigrants deported can’t say Obama is against it, and the illegal immigrants and sympathizers can say that Obama wants to keep them here and invite more. All of which is designed for approval ratings and votes for the Democrats. The MSM hasn’t picked up on this, in fact I think most major media outlets missed the boat on this one.
A few weeks back, Obama met with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, the king of Saudi Arabia. In an unprecedented move, El Presidente bowed to the Saudi King: Obama bows down to Saudi King. Recognizing that the Citizens of The United States of America do not bow to foreign monarchies because this gesture symbolizes their power over their subjects (Miss Manners’ guide for the turn-of-the-millennium – Page 697), El Presidente denies that he bowed: White House Denies Obama Bow to Saudi King. Apparently El Presidente didn’t watch the video and believes the King of Saudi Arabia has power over him – see Obama Bows to Saudi King, Supports Saudi Initiative. Either that or he is practicing the bow he would like his loyal subjects of United Socialist States of America to use when they address him. If I were a betting man, I would parlay on this one. The media has already claimed him to be the messiah, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the “King Barack Hussein Obama II” letterhead with full crest isn’t being delivered as I write this. It also doesn’t surprise me that he supports the Saudi Initiative with his distain for Israel. He “was” Muslim at some point during his life, was named after his Muslim father, and for his Muslim heritage. King Barack Hussein Obama II claims to be Christian but yet there isn’t anything remotely Christian about his name. Normally Christians have at their first or last name named after a Biblical figure or in the case of Catholics, perhaps a Saint. Apparently “Barry” prefers to claim roots to Islam and not to Christianity, which is his choice. It is very common for people to change their names to reflect their faith; apparently King Barack Hussein Obama II prefers to be associated with the Islam faith rather than his purported Christian faith. You would think that if you are going to speak out against Israel and support a Muslim nation, that you would watch your rhetoric just a tad when your name, your policies, all appear to have roots in the Quran and not the Bible. Maybe that’s just me.
The problem with closing all of these supposed loopholes in the tax code is that the old King isn’t looking in his own hen house before he opens his mouth: OBAMA’S TAX DODGERS. Then of course you have all of those rich people who supported him thinking that they somehow where going to benefit from the King’s rule: Barack Obama’s rich supporters fear his tax plans show he’s a class warrior. I have said many times that El Presidente is not qualified to be President, has no moral compass, and has no ethics what-so-ever. The buyer’s remorse is really starting to set in for those who elected him. I have only had one person defend their vote to me for the King. She said she wanted “change”, when I asked her what kind of “change” she wanted, she didn’t know, all she knew is that she wanted it. When I approached her on the issue of taxing the wealthy and ultimately who pays for those taxes, she said what I expected her to say; the rich. I then asked her if she bought gas, she said yes, I then asked her if she thought that the oil companies made too much money, she said yes. At this point she had no idea where I was going with all of this. Then I said “What factors do you think go into the price of a gallon of gas?” she replied “I don’t know”. Then I dropped the bomb on her; “Just like every other thing you buy, when the business (the wealthy under Obama) incurs more taxes (capital gains, payroll, social security, unemployment, etc), those taxes are passed on to the consumer through higher prices. If you need more examples, pick any product you would like to, anything from a gallon of milk to a Big Mac”. She had this puzzled look on her face, I then said “So now, tell me who is going to pay these taxes again?” She responded that she never thought of it that way. Unfortunately, there are many more out there like her and those are the people that King Barack Hussein Obama II and his liberal tax evading cronies pander to with their rhetoric of “Income Tax Cuts” when in reality, they are taking much more out of their back pocket. This includes the 40 some percent of Americans who pay no taxes at all, they are paying taxes, and they are just too ignorant to realize it.
These are some examples of the double standard that the MS has when it comes to what “news” they will report and report accurately and what real news they will not. In this first example, if you remember correctly, the MSM went nuts when Rush Limbaugh said “he wanted Obama to fail” and of course that was a quote wasn’t taken in it’s entire context: Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails. He was right, someone had to say it. The Democratic Party did everything they could do to hinder President Bush and try to make him a failure, why should the Republicans and other conservatives want to “give Obama a chance”? It’s funny how the liberal mind changes when the shoe is on the other foot. The MSM has been very quiet about a personal attack on Rush Limbaugh’s health by Wanda Sykes at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner: Video: Obama Laughed At 9/11 And Kidney Failure Jokes, Now Officially Says They Weren’t Funny. This typical liberal demagoguery, they have no argument so they resort to name calling and personal attacks. Apparently El Presidente has forgotten that his response to the “joke” was being taped. This isn’t the first time that King Barack Hussein Obama II tries to deny what is obvious to anyone with half a brain cell. There is a previous example of this with the King of Saudi Arabia as well as what as many more previously and I am sure many more coming. This is the President of the United States laughing at a joke that wishes death to another human being, and the MSM just ignores it. Nice society we live in. The “Do as I say not as I do” Administration is getting old, and it’s only 112 days in. We are in for along ride.
Finally, the Democrats are still trying to bring about criminal charges against the Bush Administration. It’s time for this to go away. It’s obvious that the Democratic leadership doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. If they continue this witch hunt, they will have to, according to their own standards, throw Senator Nancy Pelosi to the wolves, among other Democratic leaders: GOP’s torture strategy: Pelosi. Pelosi has really stepped in it and this time, it isn’t going away. She has had more versions of what happened then Dr. Seuss had Green Eggs and Ham. She isn’t the only Democrat either. If the Democratic Leadership continues down this path, they will have sealed their own fate by not going after some of their own. This has already been highly publicized by the MSM (because it involves the BUSH Administration), it isn’t going away. There is no way they can get away with their double standards without the majority of voting Americans knowing. So far they are continuing to chase this ghost, which makes me wonder, who elected these idiots to begin with?

I ran across this while reading this weekend and I thought it was so good that it deserved another posting:

Will Rogers famously pleaded that all he knew was what he read in the papers. If all a person knew of Barack Obama’s first 100 days as president was what they read of them in this newspaper, it would seem to be a very charmed young presidency.
The Chronicle Herald recently made space for an urgent Associated Press dispatch from Washington informing readers the Obama’s had chosen a Portuguese water dog. Not original reporting, of course, but an AP rephrasing of a White House-arranged scoop in the Washington Post online.
That was followed by a crack Canadian Press report, drawn from such gumshoe news-gathering as reading the Huffington Post, on the “hillbilly” Republican governor of Alaska: her “family and political theatrics that would do Jerry Springer proud,” like “the arrest and indictment of her sister-in-law on break-and-enter charges” and “the sordid revelations of her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.”
The Portuguese water dog and Alaskan “hillbillies” news beats apparently leave little time for anything remotely skeptical of the president of the United States. And they wonder why folks aren’t buying the papers like they used to.
So here is a small selection of news on the most powerful man on Earth which has been deemed unfit to print:
•Obama’s first two major bills alone, the “stimulus” and “omnibus,” cost nearly twice as much as was spent on Iraq over six years – $1.2 trillion vs. $650 billion.
•Obama abandoned his campaign promise of “a net spending cut,” his first annual deficit – not counting bailouts – being three times the worst deficit under President George W. Bush.
•Obama’s objective in his first G20 summit – commitments to spend our way to prosperity with massive stimulus boondoggles across the G20 – was rejected out of hand.
•Obama’s objective in his first NATO summit – commitments to combat troops for Afghanistan from “our European allies,” which Obama and his party imagined were ready and willing to fight if only someone “enlightened” like him were running things – was predictably refused, with some more European non-combat contingents offered as a token.
•Obama’s Defense Department announced cuts of $1.4 billion to missile defense, the day after North Korea test-fired its long-range, multi-stage ballistic missile.
•Obama’s economics were criticized by Warren Buffet, whose endorsement had been candidate Obama’s highest economic credential.
•Obama reversed the free trade Bush policy that had allowed about 100 Mexican tractor-trailers into the United States, which the Mexican government immediately used as an excuse to levy tariffs on 90 American goods amounting to $2.4 billion in U.S. exports.
•Obama’s “tax cuts for 95 per cent” turned out to mean $13 a week from June to December, to be clawed back to $8 a week in January – as compared with President Bush’s 2008 tax rebates of $600 to $1,200 plus $300 per child, which were notably scoffed at during the election campaign by Michelle Obama.
•Obama’s campaign promise of a $3,000-per-employee tax credit for businesses that hired new workers – repeated ad nauseam for weeks before the election – was discreetly retired even before inauguration day.
•Obama abandoned his campaign promise that “lobbyists won’t work in my White House,” waiving his no-lobbyist executive order or conveniently re-
defining his appointees’ past lobbying work to allow 30 lobbyists into his administration.
•Obama abandoned his campaign promise to reform earmarks, signing the omnibus bill which contained 8,816 of them.
•Obama took more money from AIG than any other politician in 2008 – over $100,000 – and signed into law the provision guaranteeing the AIG bonuses which later had him in front of the cameras “shaking with outrage” and siccing the pitchfork crowd on law-abiding citizens who had fulfilled their end of a contract and had their payment upheld by Obama’s own legislation.
Why should these points, and many more like them, have to be made by some obscure contributor to The Chronicle Herald’s opinion pages?
Fox News Channel is the butt of jokes and the target of attacks like no other media outlet in the English-speaking world, not least by people who fancy themselves the guardians of a free press. But Fox News is today the lone television news service in the English-speaking world capable of serious skepticism and scrutiny of the sitting president and the Congress of the United States.
Fox News is also the second most-watched channel in all American cable television. It long ago became by far the most-watched cable news channel; more Americans watched Fox News than CNN and MSNBC combined in every time slot from 6 a.m. to midnight in April. Now, while The New York Times is $1.3 billion in debt, Fox has expanded its operations with a business channel and a juggernaut Internet presence.
There’s a lesson there, though Fox News will be just as well pleased if the impeccably “mainstream” news business remains clueless about it.
The people need a Fourth Estate, not yet another adulator of Barack Obama, yet another smearer of Sarah Palin, yet another patrician editor to keep out anything disagreeable to progressive sensibilities, yet another laptop-and-latte journalism-schooler to spit on everything pre-dating 1968. And they wonder why the news business has come on hard times.

There are a lot of stories on Obama you will only find on Fox News, and that doesn’t surprise me. The media helped get Obama elected and they are doing everything they can to some degree to keep him elected. We are only 3 months into his Presidency and capitalism is already looking like a thing of the past. Everyday I read at least one story of how the government, specifically the Obama Adminsitration, has figured out a way to take a constitutional right away from us, and not enough people are speaking up or if they are, no one is listening in the government. I suspect it’s because the media isn’t reporting the news anymore. There was a little law called the Fairness Doctrine that was in place for almost 40 years and was finally removed under Ronald Reagan in 1985. With the Democrats in control there is a real possibility that this law may come back, especially with Fox News and talk radio being the only outlets to tell ALL of the news now-a-days. Oh yeah, it doesn’t hurt that Fox is the most watched cable channel in America and that liberal talk radio shows can’t make a go of it, no one listens to the shows, ask Al Franken. The only reason I mention this is because many of us want to know what Obama is going to do about it. According to the White House, Obama isn’t in favor of bringing it back: White House: Obama Opposes ‘Fairness Doctrine’ Revival. But he has flip flopped on many things during his first 100 days, I expect this will be no different the second the Democrats get that super majority when Al Franken is declared the winner in the contested MN Senate race.
Some time ago there was a leader who was also a very motivational and charismatic speaker. He convinced an entire nation to follow him no matter where he led them to. The nation allowed him to do as he wished with little resistance. Here are a few quotes from this well liked and popular world leader:

The First 100 Days Will Last The Next 100 Years
The first 100 days of on the job training are coming to an end for the first “American Idol” Presidency in the history of the United States of America. How has President Obama’s administration done so far? If you ask the Democratic National Committee (DNC), they are so enamored with Obama that they are creating an “Ad” that will air on cable news networks this week: DNC Ad Throws Roses At Obama’s 100 Days. Also, Obama will be giving the first ever “State of the first 100 days address”, but not every news station will be covering it: Fox sticking with schedule instead of Obama. I don’t need to see an Obama speech on prime time after 100 days because frankly it’s tantamount to an “infomercial”. Obama’s is on prime time more often then the ShamWow ® infomercial is run on television. Let’s face it Obama thinks he is still running for office. If you take a look at what Obama promised to do in his first 100 days in comparison with what he actually did: Obama’s first 100 days littered with broken promises & First 100 Days: Obama’s Promises Broken you will see that there is a dangerous pattern evolving. He is a very eloquent speaker when the teleprompter is on and people are mesmerized every time he speaks, only his rhetoric doesn’t match his record. The main stream media is still bending over backwards for the most part, although as I have written previously, this support seems to be waning a bit. The MSM cannot continue to ignore the people of this country and the people are angry. I wonder where they get the poll numbers for Obama’s approval rating? I can’t find 2 in 10 people that admit they voted for him let alone 6 in 10 that approve of what he is doing.
Here are my highlights of the first 100 days of the Obama Presidency and what I believe will be the effects of those policies:
1) Executive Order to close Guantanamo Bay Prison. Barack Obama has a very short memory and so do those that support this measure. 9/11 really happened and it is the primary responsibility of the Federal Government to protect the people from this ever happening again. There are no human rights violations, these prisoners are treated better than the criminals in our domestic prison system. They are not U.S. citizens, therefore, as has been ruled many times by the courts, they are not afforded Constitutional protection. However this will change the second that GTMO closes and they are brought onto American Soil. Many of them will then be set free inside the U.S.A., right where you would want a terrorist to be.
2) The release of the CIA “torture memos” where the Bush Administration approved Advanced Interrogation Techniques (AIT). Make no mistake, this was a politically motivated move. The information that was released to the press was inaccurate, bias, and was taken severely out of context: Despite Reports, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Was Not Waterboarded 183 Times. I don’t know why Obama chose to only release a third of the full story, but you have to believe that he did it under pressure to give him an excuse to prosecute Bush Administration officials, which again, is the opposite of what he said he was going to do: Another day, another Obama flip-flop. Dick Cheney went on the offensive and rightfully so because Obama and his administration has gone too far in trying to throw Bush under the bus: Cheney says Obama’s policies ‘raise the risk’ of U.S. terror attack. Not only is this whole fiasco designed to show how “great” Obama is, it tells our enemies that we aren’t willing to take whatever steps are necessary to protect the United States of America and it’s people: Baseball Signals harder to steal than National Defense Secrets. This isn’t “torture”, they are AIT’s that are used in the most humane ways under close medical supervision. This is a far cry from the torture that John McCain went through at the hands of the North Vietnamese or the methods used during any war prior to that. At worse, these methods frighten the suspect and are moderately uncomfortable. No one has died using these AIT’s, not even close. In fact there are no physical indications of anything remotely resembling “torture”. But now our enemies know we won’t even go to those lengths to protect American lives – nice.
3) Forgetting Obama’s West Coast Celebrity Tour, we have The President’s Apology Tour. I also include in this his cozying up to Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro, both of whom loath the United States and if they had their way the U.S.A. would cease to exist. Obama is spending his time apologizing for America and this is his way of bridging the gaps between the U.S. and rogue, terrorist, and enemy nations. In his apologies and his scathing rhetoric on America’s arrogance to our Allies, he is showing the world how weak America is, but more so how weak his administration and leadership is. America is the greatest nation in the world and it is our responsibility to lead, not follow. We make mistakes and we move on, listening to Obama you would think the last 8 years was one big mistake, I beg to differ because the last 100 days has been One Big Ass Mistake America, one right after another. More damage has been done to this country in the past 100 days then in the last 30 years dating back to President Carter. Enough is enough already Obama, you aren’t running for world dictator and this country needs a leader, not a talk show host. But then again, you are running this country based upon your own approval ratings and ego instead of based upon what the people actually want. How about you apologize for all of the lies you have told since you said you wanted this job?
4) The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, mistakenly given the name “Stimulus Package” and TARP. What was this intended to stimulate or save? Stimulate people to vote Democrat? Pay backs for all those who got Obama and his party into power? Save the economy from itself? I mean seriously, has anyone been positively affected by these bills? Anyone you know? Caterpillar laid off 2,500 workers which is ironic because at that very same plant Obama where he stumped for this bill, he said it would save those jobs! I live in one of those states that accepted money from the ARRA because my state is run by liberals. I haven’t seen any of this money, not one dime. I don’t know anyone who has seen a dime on either the state or federal level. I do know that the banks where I live have not accepted any TARP money even though the government tried to force it on them. The government has run amuck with our money and is trying to force businesses and financial institutions to take the money. Why? So the government can control them, the problem is the people running these businesses are smarter then that.
5) Tim Geitner and the long list of crooks that Obama has given jobs to in his administration. AND the long list of crooks who didn’t get into his administration but were asked. There are only two reasons for these appointments; a) Political Payback, b) His vetting team are idiots. You could argue in favor of either one of those but let’s fact reality, we have a tax cheat in charge of the IRS who wants you to pay more in taxes, who wants more control over businesses, and basically wants all of the power over the financial sector. I hate to say it but it is starting to look eerily like 1933, when a very charismatic speaker took control over Germany: How Hitler Became a Dictator. Say what you will about the Nazi inferences, if you can show me that there are not eerie coincidences, then I will drop the Nazi comparison. I can of course use Marxism comparisons if it makes you feel better.
6) Hilary Clinton. I won’t go into a lot of detail here because the Clinton escapades are well documented, they are liars, cheaters, crooks, and if someone really wants to investigate what happened to Vince Foster, another label could easily be applied to them. She is like any other liberal politician, her views change as the polls change. She is by far the worst Secretary of State we have ever had. Ever since the Cuban Embargo we have had some very good people in that position. None of them had the audacity to say things like this: Clinton admits Cuba policy failed, but that is small potatoes when it comes to the atrocities this liberal couple has put this country through, we shouldn’t be surprised.
7) The double standard. Liberals were all over Bush and his “Mission Accomplished” banner, even today they scoff at it. At least that gaff was a positive spin on all of the hard work the military had been putting in on the war on terror. Unlike the Obama administration, who had the intelligent thought to stage this photo op using an Air Force One backup 747 today: Airforce One skims Downtown NYC near Ground Zero WTC flv Apr 28. It has been said to be a “mistake” by the Obama Administration. Really? You think? What kind of idiot pulls a stunt like this? Clearly in the home video people are scared out of their minds, with just cause. It takes someone pretty dumb to bring back the horrors of 9/11 but everything is fair game when it comes to promoting Obama, even if it “tortures” American’s. This my friends is much worse then “waterboarding” will ever be, but I don’t see anyone threatening prosecution over this obviously felonious act. You can’t scream “fire” in a movie theatre but you can fly a 747 at 1000 feet with an F-16 escort (appears to be tailing it) around the Statue of Liberty and that’s “OK”, go figure.
8) Federal Government Power Grab. The ARRA and TARP are the largest government power grabs in the history of this country. Now we have the environmentalists appeased because the government isn’t satisfied by seizing control of the private sector, they are now in the process of buying up land: Parks eye federal funds for wider pastures. Federal lands are owned by us, the tax payers. Mark my words, this is only the beginning. Soon everything will be under control of the government, as long as Obama and his cronies are in power.
9) Obama looks like an idiot without his teleprompter. Take away this device and he makes Dan Quayle look like he has a masters degree in spelling: Obama gets ahead of prompter. There are literally hundreds of other examples of Obama and his “Um’s” when he doesn’t have his security blanket. Just who is really pulling his strings? After 100 days in office, it’s becoming more clear that George Soros may be the puppeteer. We know Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and now Arlen “the defector” Spector are doing everything they can to control the strings, but someone has to be pulling theirs.
10) And the final highlight of the first 100 days, a record level of spending in Obama’s first budget: Obama Sticker Shock. It isn’t even close to being a balanced budget, it isn’t fiscally responsible, it is record spending, creates record deficits, and does nothing more then create more dependence on the government. It appears now that the Democratically controlled congress has worked through the budget and come up with a plan that for all intents and purposes is the same, basically they will approve the budget: Congressional Democrats Reach Agreement on Budget Pact Endorsing Obama Goals. The only minor change is that the Democrats believe that 1 year is enough for the “tax cut” that Obama promised.
In the end, if the first 100 days is any indication of how they next 1,360 days of his Presidency are going to go, we will be the United Socialist States of America sooner then Obama planned for. We are getting “Change” alright, change from a Representative Republic to a Democracy, which in the end will lead to Socialism. The days are numbered for the Constitution as it appears that it is nothing more then an old document that is being rapidly destroyed by this administration and the liberal Congress. Liberals all clamor that the last 8 years of George Bush damaged our country and it needs to be repaired. I would argue that first 100 days of the Obama Presidency has set our country back 100 years.

The Irony of It All
As usual, life gets in the way of me posting regularly. I have however been paying attention to the world. There are many things I have been following and here they are in no particular order:
There are a lot of pundits who refer to President Obama as the media proclaimed Messiah. Since some 90%+ of Americans believe in Christianity, I find it to be blasphemous to use this analogy. The MSM has been falling all over Obama since he came on the national scene as a Junior Senator from Illinois. So I guess in their warped minds to speak of him as the “chosen one” isn’t a stretch. It appears that Obama and his administration have bought into this Religious symbolism as well: Georgetown University Hid Religious Symbols at White House Request. It’s either that or Obama’s well known distain for anyone who “clings to their bible”.
We all know that the media played a very large role in getting him elected. There has been study after study done about media bias and in the end, journalists (I use that term loosely) by a large majority vote Democrat and they slant their coverage in that direction. Recently there was some confusion at CNBC whether or not they were being to “hard” on the Obama administration: CNBC SWEATS ‘OBAMA-BASHING’. One side says this and the other side says that. One thing I know is for sure, the truth is somewhere in the middle. What exactly what was said we will never know, but we do know that the two sides have different views on how the conversations were interpreted. I can’t imagine a CEO or the like coming out and saying “Quit attacking Obama so much”, but I can imagine the same saying something like “We need to look at our coverage of the new Presidency to show our support and to curtail any negativity.”, which is a nice way of saying the former. Either way something unethical was said that anyone claiming to be an unbiased journalist would appose to. And yes, I did use “unethical” and “journalist” in the same sentence, its called irony.
Speaking of the MSM, people are blaming the media for actually making the economy worse: Harris Poll: People Blame Media For Economy. I have to disagree with this one. I don’t think any media outlet or any advertising agency is responsible for people making poor economic choices. The old proverb “If something is too good to be true, it probably is”, this goes doubly for advertisers. Media outlets make their money on advertising and they don’t care a heck of a lot what the advertisers are peddling. Advertisers make their money by consumers buying their products. In some cases those advertisers hope, like the government does, that the government education you received makes you believe everything you see, while hiding the reality behind their backs. People need to be responsible for themselves and I don’t believe for one second that the government or anyone else is responsible for you not doing your homework before making any financial decisions on what to do with your money. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t people out there whose sole intention is to scam you out of your hard earned money, but it is buyer beware and ultimately no one else is going to look out for you.
So you think leftist ideology isn’t being taught at public universities? John Ziegler was arrested outside of a ceremony at USC where the journalism department was giving Katie Couric the Walter Cronkite journalism award for her interview of Sarah Palin: Officers Handcuff Documentary Filmmaker at Katie Couric Journalism Award Event. You see, John Zeigler is a journalist but not USC’s kind of journalist, he isn’t liberal. If USC and other public universities are truly unbiased in their curriculum, why wasn’t he allowed in to begin with? Ignore the absurdity that Katie Couric deserves any kind of award for her far left leaning brand of journalism, there is a a reason she is the least watched news anchor in America, she doesn’t hide her bias well. She does everything she can to trip Palin up and disrespect her at every turn: CBS Evening News Anchor Katie Couric Interviews Alaska’s Governor On The Ailing Economy. In contrast look at how she handled her interview with Joe Biden: CBS News Anchor Katie Couric Spends The Day With The Democratic VP Nominee. Even the titles given by CBS are biased. So she deserves an award and Zeigler deserves to be arrested? USC had better rethink it’s curriculum in journalism because they clearly believe in the First Amendment, they are just disappointed it covers all American’s.
Another story that defines the mess our government has gotten us into: Stimulus funds in states: It costs money to spend. We have to spend money to spend money, you can’t make this stuff up. Only our government would devise a plan to spend money to spend money, and you want to trust them with healthcare?
It seems that the Miss America pageant has no tolerance for the First Amendment or should I say the fair application of it: Miss California Sparks Furor With Gay Marriage Comments on Miss USA Telecast. Ms California it would seem (and tell me that isn’t ironic), believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman. She also believes in the freedom of others to pursue what they believe. This doesn’t sit well with the people who run the Ms America pageant. Apparently she isn’t allowed to have her own opinion and beliefs. I applaud her for her values and belief’s, it’s about time someone used the national media stage for the values that most Americans believe in and not the political agenda of the liberal left. As far as the Ms America pageant is concerned, I won’t ever watch another one. I am going to exercise my rights (as long as I still have them) to not give my support to any organization that narrow minded. The Constitution covers us all, like it or not.
Finally, the last bit of irony: ABC: Obama ‘Unaware of Tea Parties’. We elected this guy President, if you can believe that. If you are protesting the war, which we haven’t seen many of those since Obama took office, every MSM organization covers those. I seem to recall some protests where only a few people showed up, yet the MSM had it as front page news. They had the protestors at the G20 summit front and center and they aren’t even U.S. Citizens. So along comes a unified America protesting the way the government is handling their money. This protest was not a “Republican” protest as the protesters came from all political ideologies. The MSM ignored this in the days leading up to it and when it happened, they showed just how biased and ignorant they really are. We heard about how calling it a “Tea Party” was ridiculous because it was not about taxation without representation as it was at the Boston Tea Party in 1773. They didn’t bother to actually listen to people to see that there are some very close similarities. Here is how CNN Reporter (again a term used loosely) Susan Roesgen handled her interview: What CNN Didn’t Show of Roesgen’s Chicago Tea Party Interviews. Just so you know, CNN has been trying to scrub this from the internet claiming it is a violation of copyright laws: CNN Scrubs Roesgen’s Unaired Tea Party Interview From YouTube. In the original “edited” version of CNN’s Susan Roesgen interview with a protester, it was obvious that the people are fed up and truly believe they have no representation in government. She in turn said that the protest was anti-government, anti-CNN, and was driven by the right wing Fox news organization. She then had the audacity to claim that the protest wasn’t fit for family viewing. This coming from a network who thinks showing our fallen hero’s caskets being brought back from war is suitable for family viewing. Who thinks the bashing of President Bush for unpopular decisions he made over an 8 year term in office is family viewing while praising Obama for making many unpopular decisions in less then 100 days in office. Well at least they are consistent in their bias and erroroneous reporting. Susan Roesgen made a mockery of journalism with her made up commentary on what was really happening. CNN as well as many other MSM outlets think the whole thing was a joke, conservatives protesting, how dare they exercise their rights. You also see no retraction or disciplinary action from CNN for her behavior, which just puts and exclamation point on the whole biased issue. It is true that there were anti-CNN signs at these protests and apparently, with very good reason. Then the MSM moved onto “teabagging” references and the innuendos ensued. They ignored what the acronym TEA really stood for in this movement: Taxed Enough Already. Then we have MSNBC telling us that the protesters have no idea what they are protesting and that only 10’s of thousands showed up all across the country, accept that doesn’t jive with reality: Tea Party Nonpartisan Attendance Estimates: Now 300,000+. The numbers come from all different sources, primarily MEDIA sources. MSNBC showed just how unreliable their news coverage really is. They allowed Keith Olbermann to speak on the matter and he brought in actress Janeane Garofalo to speak on the Tea Party matter as well. I don’t know about you but if ever there were two people so less qualified to talk about what conservatives are really saying: Garofalo: Tea Party Goers Are Racists Who Hate Black President. As with the CNN coverage, you will see just how ignorant and asinine their reporting of it was. Obviously Olbermann has no clue what he is talking about, he hasn’t since he was on EPSN and even then that was questionable. It’s not funny how many people tune into the MSM, see these idiots, and believe them to be the truth. Even though Fox’s ratings are far and above those of any other news network, here are the ratings for some cable news programs during the week of April 15th: Ratings. Heck, go back and check out any of the weeks and you will see that all of the shows on Fox News that are listed are #1 in their time slot, and in some cases with more viewers then all the other networks combined in their time slot.
The country is becoming more unified in it’s disdain for the biased MSM and an out of control government. The First Amendment, much to the disappointment of the left, protects us all. It is our responsibility to this country to exercise those rights because the media and the government are doing their best to see that they are taken away from you.
